ART PRACTICES AS A FACTOR OF ADAPTATION AND RECOVERY OF DEFENDERS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF IVANO-FRANKIVSK)

Abstract

The article examines the activities of spaces for veterans operating in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the purpose of which is the restoration and adaptation of defenders, in particular through the means of art. If before the full-scale invasion, several such centers operated in the region, which were mainly taken care of by individual initiators on a volunteer basis and charitable foundations, then with the beginning of the acute phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war, this process became significantly more active. Currently, the activities of centers for military personnel and veterans, in particular those operating in the city and region, have support at the level of state structures, while the active involvement of public organizations and patrons continues to help such institutions develop. However, it is the creative component of the activities of such spaces that continues to remain the initiative of individual creative personalities, volunteers, and art therapists. The purpose of the article is to highlight the diverse creative events and initiatives held by artists and volunteers for military personnel and veterans in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and the region, which are aimed at the socialization of defenders and their more flexible adaptation to civilian life. The need to create conditions for artistic activity in such institutions and outside them is undeniable, because along with physical and psychological rehabilitation, the complex should include the restoration of mental health, as well as socialization and adaptation through art. Art itself is a significant factor in the adaptation and recovery of military personnel and veterans, where active forms are best manifested – the involvement of defenders in any creative process, and such activities are currently actively implemented in open centers for military personnel and veterans in Ivano-Frankivsk, in particular "MriyaDiya" at the regional clinical hospital, "Veteranycivilni PETROS" at Promprylad, "Franko-Hrazhda" in the village of Porohy, etc.
