Abstract

The article examines the problem of fundamental artistic training of designers within the contemporary system of art education, with a particular focus on the synergy of plastic anatomy and academic drawing. The relevance of the study is determined by current trends toward reducing academic disciplines in design curricula and the increasing emphasis on digital tools, often at the expense of developing spatial thinking, constructive perception of form, and plastic expressiveness. In this context, academic drawing and plastic anatomy are considered not as separate subjects, but as interrelated components of a unified methodological system for professional designer training. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the role of the synergy between plastic anatomy and academic drawing as the basis for forming artistic and professional competencies of designers. The research employs methods of theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological sources, generalization of pedagogical experience, comparative analysis of educational programs, and observation of practical training outcomes of design students. The study demonstrates that academic drawing develops constructive thinking, the ability to analyze proportions, spatial relationships, and principles of form construction, while plastic anatomy provides a deep understanding of the internal structure of the human body, the logic of movement, tension, and interaction of muscle masses. Their combination contributes to the formation of holistic artistic vision, which is essential for creating convincing design images in graphic design, illustration, animation, character design, and digital media. The conclusions emphasize that the synergy of plastic anatomy and academic drawing constitutes a fundamental basis for professional training of designers, ensuring a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering visual culture, and enhancing the quality of design projects. The findings of the study can be applied to improving curricula for art and design education programs.
