Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive interdisciplinary study of the transformation of visual languages in modern graphic design, focusing on the systemic transition from the long-standing dominance of functional minimalism (Flat Design) to the formation and active dissemination of a new aesthetic phenomenon – visual-tactile illusoriness The authors conducted a thorough analysis of the genesis of digital interfaces over the last decade and identified the regular causes of increasing aesthetic fatigue among users regarding visually homogeneous, geometrically ideal flat surfaces. It is proven that such visual monotony and the absence of physical markers lead to a pronounced sensory deprivation effect, which, in turn, causes cognitive alienation of the person from the digital product. Within the framework of scientific research, a detailed deconstruction of the evolutionary stages of visual archetypes was carried out, using the iconic image of a postage envelope as an example. The authors trace the path from the radical skeuomorphism of the 2000s with its detailed copying of physical objects, through a period of abstract asceticism, to the modern concept of visually-mediated tactility, defined as a synthesis of compositional purity with the profound properties of the material world. Particular attention is paid to the technological determinants of illusory tactile reception formation. Based on a series of practical experiments using modern 3D graphics tools (3ds Max, Blender) and physically-based rendering (PBR) systems, the mechanics of the influence of key material parameters on the viewer's subconscious response are determined. The role of Roughness indicators, the use of Normal Maps to simulate micro-relief, and the Metallic parameter for reproducing the thermal conductivity properties of surfaces are investigated. The psychophysiological mechanism of visual synesthesia is theoretically substantiated, in which specific digital markers – such as visual micro-texturing, soft light scattering, and physically accurate shadows – activate brain functions responsible for the perception of touch, creating an illusion of the object's physical presence. The scientific novelty of the work lies in defining visual-tactile illusoriness as a regular compensatory mechanism for the humanization of digital space. It is proven that the use of imitative non-linearity of surfaces and affordances significantly reduces the cognitive load on the user. The article offers a new vision of design as a tool for projecting a multi-sensory environment, where digital materiality becomes a fundamental communication standard in the era of immersive technologies
