VISUALIZATION OF EMOTIONAL STATE IN CONTEMPORARY FINE ART: ARTISTIC TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS

Abstract

Тhe article examines the visualization of emotional state in contemporary fine art through the use of various artistic techniques and methods, which help artists to express a wide range of their moods and emotions. The purpose of the study is to examine the basic artistic techniques and methods that artists actively apply to express emotional depth on canvas. These techniques include the use of specific color palettes and combinations of shades, the application of paint in the form of brushstrokes and droplets of various shapes, various approaches to compositional decisions, as well as specific techniques of the expressionist style. The methodology includes an analysis of the artistic techniques used by representatives of various artistic movements and countries, as well as a comparative analysis of different approaches to the use of color, brushstrokes, and composition in the context of expressing emotions. In addition, the article examines the role of Expressionism as an artistic movement that emphasizes inner emotions and psychological depth, where subjective experience takes precedence over objective representation, and the artists do not merely depict the surrounding reality but filters it through the prism of them own «self». The scientific novelty of this work lies in complex research of methods for using various artistic techniques to visualize emotional states, focusing not on a single technique but on the examination of several well-known methods, their contexts of application, and the innovative approaches or famous artists. The conclusions of the article confirm that contemporary fine art actively applies the visualization of emotions as a method of expressing the artist’s psychological state and subconsciously influencing the viewer’s impressions and feelings. It has been established that by using color palettes, brushstroke textures, shapes, and the direction of lines, as well as composition, artists can influence the perception of an artwork and create a strong emotional impression. The artistic space is transformed into a platform for emotional reflection, where each viewer finds their own meanings, emphasizing the subjective nature of art.
